Daylilt helps you review your own phone activity and keep a private journal. This policy explains what the app reads, where it stays, and what happens when you choose an external action.

What Daylilt can access
Only sources you enable are read. Depending on your choices, Daylilt can read notification app names, senders, titles and message content; foreground app usage and screen events; calendar accounts, titles and times; media titles and artists; and movement or location observations.
Optional Health Connect access reads approved steps, distance, exercise, sleep and mindfulness records. Daylilt is not a medical service and does not diagnose or treat conditions.
Location is optional
If you enable all-day journey recording, Daylilt collects precise location in the background, including while the app is closed or not in use, to reconstruct journeys and add travel context. An ongoing Android notification indicates recording.
You can stop recording or revoke access at any time.
Storage and sharing
Captured records, saved moments, notes and journals are stored in the app's private storage on your device. The Play edition does not upload them to a developer server, enable remote AI classification, read SMS directly, sell data or share data for advertising.
Android app backup is disabled. Android, Google Play services and Health Connect have their own privacy practices.
When information leaves the phone
If you deliberately choose Find source, the selected title becomes a browser search query. That search is outside Daylilt and is handled by the destination you choose.
The separate sideload development build can send notification data to a configured development server only when explicitly requested. This is disabled in the Play edition.
Your choices and deletion
You can skip permission requests, revoke access in Android settings, stop optional recording, and delete records for individual raw-data sources. Revoking a permission stops future access but does not erase earlier records. To remove all captured records, saved items and journals, use Android Settings → Apps → Daylilt → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
There is no developer-hosted account or remote copy to delete.
Security and limits
Data is protected by Android app-private storage and device security. Daylilt does not promise additional database encryption or immunity from device compromise. Foreground time is an estimate of app presence, not attention. Media titles do not prove consumption. Calendar plans are not proof of attendance. Missing observations do not prove inactivity.
